Boca Raton, FL, November 19, 2001 – At a recent SIF (Schools Interoperability Framework) meeting in Atlanta, GA, Mark Reichert, Senior Programmer with Mandarin Library Automation, Inc., was named Co-Chair of the Infrastructure Working Group for SIF. As Co-Chair, Mark will be instrumental in the continuing development of the SIF initiative, which is working toward facilitating data sharing between applications in K-12 schools by streamlining data entry, analysis and reporting for administrators and staff.
Mark has worked on Mandarin M3® from inception and is now responsible for ensuring its compatibility with the SIF standards once they have been released. Mandarin became an active SIF Participant in the spring of 2000 when Mark joined the Infrastructure Working Group, the Compliance Working Group, and the Library Automation Working Group. Harry Kaplanian, Vice President of Software Development is also a member of the Infrastructure, the Compliance, and the Library Automation Working Groups for the SIF initiative.
Nearly 15 years of development and experience have produced the current Mandarin M3 software. Developed on a client/server architecture incorporating the latest automation standards, Mandarin M3 demonstrates that a product with features such as a Mandarin proprietary MARC search engine, a union catalog, a multilingual OPAC, and a powerful report tool, with integrated SIF standards, will be the future of library automation.
